Relic, the developer, did all kinds of crazy shit with terrain, squad set ups, angle of attack, shit like that. CoH wasn't like some of them, where it's just base building, build army, overpower opponent ect. It doesn't actually address how cool the game play was/is, which was very tactical compared to some RTS's. As a fan of the genre, the series really stood out, and used to be, like 12 years ago, pretty much the benchmark test for video cards, which just speaks to how insane the graphics were at the time. I just woke up, doused a few more painkillers, and now can concentrate again.īack to the games, this is also a taste thing, as some people love RTS games and some people do not. Long story made short, I had major surgery yesterday, and I am in fuckin agony, lol. I only got probably 25 minutes into this last night before I paused it and tried to get some sleep, which didn't last long. Bit of a mess, this is, but I am actually enjoying it a bit more as I take my time through it. For instance, this scene on the train at timestamp 45:00 - 48:00 or so is actually the best I have seen so far.
The fuckin Soccer player turned gangster in Guy Ritchie films is actually pretty good in this! Keep in mind, I am watching this as I am typing, so there are definitely some mixed bags happening. Vinnie Jones, actually, isn't bad, though, which i find funny. My major problem with this film is that even the lines from actors I normally enjoy come off as completely flat, like we are hearing a first time through table read.
It is well written, though, I actually dig it. This score is loud, which I think is cool, but your milage may vary. I have always hated that, personally, but being both a musician and a sound engineer, I take everything on a case by case basis and see what works. In the past 25 years, with few exceptions, so many studio films have been burying the score in basically every film and cranking up the sound effects to ridiculous levels.
It's good, actually, though it may be a lot louder in the mix than you are used to, depending on how much exposure you have had.
