We will still have general power level guidelines (for example, it will be hard to admit Isamaru despite how optimized a list might be), but they are less strict than our guidelines for older commanders.Įach review cycle, the managers and the reviewers revisit the entries in the Brewer's Corner. In terms of deck evaluation, we will mostly be concerned with optimizing the commander, rather than comparing them to existing entries. While we'd like to see these new commanders represented, many lists aren't maintained after the initial hype period. From personal experience of facing and playing such decks, if you don't hate on them immediately, they run away with games.EDH is increasing in popularity and a lot of people want to play with new commanders. A little fairer, but still arguably another incidental win-con. I don't think it's going to be a ban-worthy card, but for 2 mana, a card that reads 'answer me right now or you're all going to lose' seems a touch unfun.ĮDIT: Remembered Vorel can't target Enchantments.

No, the answer most definitely is not Simic or Golgari, its Dimir.
